Be the change: unite for a better internet - 7 February 2017

Safer Internet Day 2017 will be celebrated globally on Tuesday 7 February with the slogan ‘Be the change: Unite for a better internet’.

Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre the celebration sees hundreds of organisations get involved to help promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.

Locally, Coventry Trading Standards are joining other agencies to support Safer Internet Day and help to keep children safe online.

The day offers the opportunity to highlight positive uses of technology and to explore the role we all play in helping to create a better and safer online community. It calls upon young people, parents, carers, teachers, social workers, law enforcement, companies, policymakers, and wider, to join together in helping to create a better internet.

How to report scams

• If you've received a potential scam message or computer virus but no money has been lost or you haven’t responded to it, contact Citizens Advice consumer service on 03454 04 05 06. 
• If you have been a victim of a scam, contact Action Fraud (UK’s National Fraud Office) on 0300 123 2040.
