Welcome to your February half term special from Visit Coventry! We are focussing on some of the deals and offers that our region has to offer you and your family this half term. From medieval knights at Warwick Castle to discounted Dr Who busts at Sgt. Bilko's Emporium and from kinetic powered wonder at the Coventry Transport Museum to sketching masterclasses at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum - it's all going on and you can be a part of it. Keep your eyes peeled for our next issue, due out next week - we will be covering what's happening in Coventry and Warwickshire from LGBT History month to the Cheese and Chutney Fest at Fargo Village. Sketching Masterclass

This half term the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum has plenty to keep your kids entertained:

  • Playful Self-Portraits is a week long arty adventure, packed full of different craft workshops, teaching specialist art skills to help you to create unique and wonderful self-portraits. Running from Saturday 18 - Saturday 25 February (excluding Sunday 19) from 10.30am - 3.30pm.
  • Ignite imagination and creativity in the Sketching Masterclass. You and your children will explore the Face to Face exhibition alongside a member of the Herbert's Learning Team, who will assist you and your children as you delve into the wonderful world of drawing. Children will have the opportunity to expand their sketching skills and learn new techniques using a variety of art materials. Best of all, their masterpieces can all be taken home with them! Come along on Monday 20 February from 10.30am - 12.30pm and 1.30pm - 3.30pm.
  • Your Face is a Masterpiece! Yes, you read that right! Transform your face into a work of art, as the Herbert's skilled face painters use iconic art movements to make you look like a painted portrait. Available on Wednesday 22 February from 11.00am - 1.00pm and from 2.00pm - 3.30pm.

Coventry Transport Museum Hot Rods: Racing Cup

Coventry Transport Museum has a brilliant list of energy powered delights ready and waiting for you and yours this half term: 

  • On Your Marks, Get Set - Balloon! Come along and create a car that runs on balloon power - make your racer than fuel it by inflating the balloon. Release it and watch it go! Air pressure in the balloon races your car across the floor - so come and create your Balloon Powered Car

  • Get creative using simple household items and your wind up spool racer will be racing across the room in no time. They are small, cut and lots of kinetic fun!

The Belgrade Theatre has an exciting programme of events and activities to keep families entertained over the holidays:
