 The Council has welcomed the news that the government has given the go ahead to a major decarbonisation project in the region.
 Storyhouse combines a theatre, library, cinema and restaurant and is a community space all under one roof. The Council's Cabinet is now being asked to extend the current lease from 2037 for up to a further ten years to 2047, a reflection of Storyhouse’s sustained success and its vital role in the city.
Supporting more women and girls to be physically active

A workshop is taking place this month to plan how to help more women and girls in the borough get active.
Nationally, there are 313,600 fewer women than men who are regularly active; girls as young as five do not believe they belong in sport and, by the time they reach puberty, 1.3 million girls who once loved sport are disengaging.
