Chester Rows High Street Heritage Action Zone success celebrated
Work over the past four years on Chester Rows, as part of the Heritage Action Zone project, has been completed.
Significant works were successfully undertaken to refurbish the upper tier galleries and deliver a range of projects to increase awareness and interaction with Chester’s unique built heritage and support footfall into the heart of the city.

The winners of this year’s Cheshire Schools’ Book Awards have been announced.
Over 100 students, teachers, librarians and parents gathered together at Winsford Academy to meet this years’ fantastic array of shortlisted authors and hear about what inspired them to write their novels.
Council secures funding to decarbonise council housing
The Council has been awarded £1.5 million by the Government after being successful in its bid for funding to assist with decarbonising its council housing in the Borough.
The Council will also contribute £1.5 million from its Housing Revenue Account to make a total of £3 million worth of improvements to make its council housing more energy efficient, saving money on energy bills for hundreds of households.
Vivo Care Choices is providing supported employment for Neil so he can offer a warm welcome to customers at cafés across west Cheshire.
An in-house service at the Council, Vivo delivers a range of support for people with learning disabilities and autism, as well as older people and those with dementia.
Council to start enforcement of moving traffic offences
The Council will begin enforcement of moving traffic offences at four locations from 20 May, to reduce dangerous manoeuvres, congestion and disruption on the road network.
