INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR GARDEN WASTE COLLECTIONS 2023
Thank you for subscribing to the 2023 Garden Waste Collection Service. The last collections for this subscription year will take place between Monday 20 November and Friday 1 December. Check your calendar here for your final collection day
Once collected by our crews, we send all your garden waste to a local open air composting facility. Useable compost is formed through an aerobic process. This means the garden waste is turned regularly to help the oxygen in the air to breakdown the waste over time. It is therefore helpful to ensure that any garden waste you have is presented on your last collection day so it can go through this process. If garden waste is left in your bin for too long, it starts to breakdown in a way which can slow-down the open-air composting process.
If you produce garden waste during winter, you can dispose of it at your local household waste recycling centre for composting. Alternatively, you could pile it up in a sheltered place in your garden, and then place it into your garden waste bin once the 2024 service starts again.
We will send you another email in December to let you know how to renew your garden waste subscription for 2024, the service starts again on 26 February 2024.
