Community Centre Closures

Following advice from Public Health England, Cheshire West and Chester will be temporarily closing all Council managed community centres to the public at 5pm on Friday 20 March 2020 until further notice.  Locally, this includes Flatt Lane Community Centre; Little Sutton Community Centre; Thelwall Road Community Centre; Westminster Community Centre; and Wolverham Community Centre.

Community - Whats On

Due to the ongoing situation and to help stop the spread of coronavirus, most museums and attractions are being closed.  From Friday 20th March this will include the Ellesmere Port, National Waterways Museum.  Currently, Chester Zoo and Blue Planet Aquarium remain open (see their websites for further details). 

In addition, many local groups and regular meetings places within the community have been cancelled or postponed until further notice.  If in doubt, check online or with the organiser first.  


Coronavirus Advice

Library Closures

Following advice from Public Health England,.Cheshire West and Chester will be temporarily closing all libraries to the public at 5pm on Friday 20 March 2020 until further notice.  Locally, this includes Ellesmere Port Library; Hope Farm Library and Little Sutton Library.

Brio Leisure Entertainment @ Civic Hall

Due to the ongoing situation with Coronavirus, and inline with current Government advice, entertainment events held at Civic hall have been cancelled until the end of May unless it’s safe to open sooner as per government guidelines.

Brio Leisure Centres - Closure

Working with Cheshire West and Chester Council, we have come to the difficult decision to close our leisure centres from Friday 20 March at 5.00pm (last entry 4.00pm). It’s a decision that we feel puts the safety and wellbeing of our customers ahead of anything else, and it’s the right thing to do. These closures will be in place until the end of May unless it’s safe to open sooner as per government guidelines.

All Work Zones are currently closed to the public. Mentoring appointments and registrations are still available online and by phone

The Council carries out a range of consultations on its future plans and other matters affecting residents and businesses. It is also involved in responding to national consultations issued by central Government.
