Upcoming training next week:
What is my behaviour trying to tell you? – 10th November 2025 18:30 - 20:30 (Microsoft Teams)
This training is suitable for all practitioners who work in early years and will provide the skills and knowledge to develop your understanding of children’s social and emotional needs. This session will explore how we can be curious about behaviours and what might be affecting the child at that given time and build a supportive, appropriate curriculum using the EYFS and development matters as a guide. We will also consider current strategies and approaches to ensure they meet the needs of all children, embed behaviour conversations in your practice and develop a whole setting approach to supporting children’s behaviour.
DSL Cluster – 11th November 2025 18:30 - 20:30 or 13th November 9:30 - 11:30 (Microsoft Teams)
These virtual sessions are intended to further develop your DSL's understanding, knowledge and skills. Childminders are the DSL for their setting. At these meetings there will be opportunities for discussion with other leads, networking, sharing of effective practice/materials, input from other agencies and updates on new legislation/initiatives. Attendance at each termly cluster is highly recommended to keep your safeguarding knowledge up to date.
Step Inside the Toddler Room – 12th November 2025 18:30 - 20:30 (Microsoft Teams)
This session is part of a series focussing on supporting the three different age groups of children within the Early Years. Don’t miss out - “staff attended training that extended their knowledge about meeting the needs of two-year-old children. The training was a valuable opportunity” (Ofsted, 2023). This training is for all practitioners working with toddlers and will provide the skills and child development knowledge needed to work with this unique age group. Step Inside the Toddler Room training will cover what you need to know about child development at 2, how 2-year-olds like to learn, the physical environment and supporting feelings and emotions.
Delivering Small Groups – 13th November 2025 14:00 - 16:00 (Microsoft Teams)
Together with our specialist Speech and Language Therapists you will explore ways to set up small groups focussing on the development of attention and listening skills as well as language skills and vocabulary. You will learn more about how to identify children for the groups as well as sharing thoughts and ideas around using a total communication approach to support children to engage with the activities. Attention and Listening and Vocabulary session planning booklets are included with this training as well as lists of necessary equipment.
Let’s Get Outside – 14th November 2025 9:30 - 12:00 (Microsoft Teams)
Let’s explore the benefits of outdoor play and learning; from promoting physical health and wellbeing to nurturing creativity, critical thinking and social skills. The outdoors is the perfect canvas for holistic development. Curiosity is sparked, imaginations can run wild, and learning can become an adventure. This brand-new training will empower and enable practitioners to make the most of their outdoor space. Sharing ideas on how to enhance your learning environment to give children the opportunity and space to explore no matter how small, large, man-made or natural it may be. All attendees will receive a PDF copy of our ‘Let’s Get Outside’ toolkit.
