SENCO Network - 30th September 2024 10:00 - 11:30 (Monks Coppenhall Family Hub)
These network sessions are intended to further develop your SENCO's understanding, knowledge and skills. At these meetings there will be opportunities for discussion with other SENCO’s, networking, sharing of effective practice/materials, input from other agencies and updates on new legislation/initiatives. Attendance at each termly network is highly recommended to keep your SEND knowledge up to date.
Pyjama Drama - My Playful Practice - 1st October 2024 09:30 - 12:00 (Oakenclough Family Hub)
Join Pyjama Drama for a session on ‘My Playful Practice’: Use drama techniques to inspire and accelerate learning. No drama experience required, and you will never be asked to role play or perform in front of anyone during this training. Instead, you will learn through watching live and pre-recorded demonstrations, participating in group reflection and discussion, and by joining in with Pyjama Drama games and activities. You will leave with resources (including lesson plans and music), and ideas and activities you can put into practice the very next day.
EYFS - Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements - 2nd October 2024 10:00 - 12:00 (Microsoft Teams)
This course will explore Section 3 - ‘The Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements’ of the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework for group and school-based providers. This training encourages practitioners to recognise their role in the broader picture of keeping children safe and offers useful links and information to take back to the setting when considering inspection and Ofsted expectations.
Delivering Small Groups - 2nd October 2024 13:00 - 15:00 (Microsoft Teams)
Together with our specialist Speech and Language Therapists you will explore ways to set up small groups focussing on the development of attention and listening skills as well as language skills and vocabulary. You will learn more about how to identify children for the groups as well as sharing thoughts and ideas around using a total communication approach to support children to engage with the activities. Attention and Listening and Vocabulary session planning booklets are included with this training as well as lists of necessary equipment.
Understanding the EIF and the Learning Walk - 2nd October 2024 (Microsoft Teams)
This two hour online session will give providers an opportunity to consider Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework in the light of the new Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework. The curriculum is discussed and consideration is given to how to integrate Intent, Implementation and Impact in to your setting. The Learning Walk is unpicked and Ofsted’s ‘Golden Thread’ is looked at in more detail and is made relatable to you and your provision.
New Managers - Understanding the Role - 3rd October 2024 10:00 - 11:30 (Microsoft Teams)
This session is part of a series focussing on supporting early years practitioners to progress in management roles. This training will look at statutory requirements and skills needed to be an effective manager. This course is suitable for new managers, deputy managers, senior staff and those who aspire to be in a management position.
