Hello to the new highways programme of works map- Updated programme link
This year, we have redeveloped the way we display our road repair and improvement programme.
All highway schemes that are planned for delivery during the 2023-2024 financial year will be displayed visually on the new interactive Highway Information Mapping System. This gives you the opportunity to navigate to specific streets and areas you would like to see by scrolling on the map, typing in a location in the search bar or by selecting specific data, such as asset category or treatment type.
A table of all highway schemes will also be available below the map so you can find location by road name, which is listed in alphabetical order. This service can be used on any device, making it a useful tool.
The data will be regularly updated to keep you up to date with the progress of the schemes. The system can be found on the road repair and improvement programme webpage.

February highways highlights
February was a busy month with the severe cold weather and overall we gritted 12,481km - that is further than driving from Crewe to Tokyo!
The cold weather has also meant more potholes and we completed 2,571 pothole repairs along with 5,283m2 of road patching.
Supporting young careers
 |
|
We recently attended a careers fair at Brine Leas High School in Nantwich to help guide and offer advice to students looking to begin a career after completing high school. Attended by our successful apprentices, we showcased the brilliant apprenticeship route available to the pupils in both operational and office-based roles across Cheshire East. |
If you or someone you know are interested in kick starting a career in highways, you can click the link below to find out more about what we have to offer and the development paths available.
How to report highway issues
Our online reporting tool allows you to report a range of highway issues from potholes to slippery surfaces, and lots more!
Currently, we are seeing an increase in reports of mud on the highway and verge parking issues.
Due to the change in weather, muddy and slippery surfaces are also common at this time of year. If you're walking along a path that seems covered in leaves, or see mud on the roads please report it to us online.
Where there are no waiting restriction parking regulations in place on the road or verge, enforcement can only be carried out by the Police. To report obstructive parking to the police, dial 101. More information on nuisance parking can be found here.

International Women's Day
We are proud to have supported International Women's Day by celebrating and featuring some of the women who contribute so much to Cheshire East Highways on our Twitter account.
As a previously male dominated industry, International Women's Day is a fantastic opportunity for us to celebrate our diversity and female successes.

Starting on Monday 27 March for 13 weeks, we will be delivering improvement works to the existing pedestrian and cyclist environment at the junction of B5470 Hurdsfield Road and Black Lane in Macclesfield.
The improvements were identified through the Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP), and aims to provide a safer, more convenient link for cyclists using the Middlewood Way (National Cycle Network Route 55) via Black Lane.
The scheme will increase accessibility and enhance northern and southern connections with the Middlewood Way. It also takes in the existing route parallel to old Hurdsfield Road to the south.
