New to the role of Manager coffee and chat

We will be running a Microsoft Teams coffee and chat session for Managers who are new to their role on Thursday 31 March 2022 10-11am. This is an opportunity for new Managers to meet others in the same position, and to meet the Childcare Development Officer. Latest Covid figures in Cheshire East

Using data from 20 March 2022, there have been:

• 3660 cases in the previous 7 days
• 2540 cases in the prior 7 days (up to 13 March)
• 947 cases per 100,000 population in the previous 7 days
• 842 cases in England per 100,000 in the previous 7 days

FEEE Summer Term Data - All FEEE Providers and Administrators

The Provider Portal has now closed to enable the summer term interim payment to be calculated. It will re-open again for Summer term data in a week or so. 

If you have any adjustments for the Spring term, please email them to the FEEE Team who will add these for you.

EYFS Learning and Development

Exploring ‘Development Matters’ with Julian Grenier, 28^th April 9.30am-12pm

Julian Grenier will be leading this virtual session on how children learn and develop; he will talk about how using Development Matters can guide you to design an effective curriculum for children in the Early Years. In particular, he will focus on 7 Features of Effective Practice, the Characteristics of Effective Teaching & Learning and the planning and implementation cycles. Following this session there will be a Q&A session to give you the chance to ask questions and gain further understanding about how to make best use of the document to support your own professional knowledge, practice and provision.

Training opportunities this week

SENCO networks – Wednesday 30^th March 1.30pm & 31^st March 9.30am and 6.30pm

This is your last chance to book your place at one of our SENCO networks which are taking place on Wednesday 30^th & Thursday 31^st March. You will have the opportunity to hear about our new SEND procedures and paperwork, including submitting a request for a consultation, applications for SEND Inclusion Funding and monitoring and recording children’s development. There will also be an opportunity to meet other Early Years SENCOs to support and share best practice.

Let’s Talk Twos revisited – Wednesday 30^th March 6.30pm

Don’t worry if you missed this term's Let’s talk twos network! This is an opportunity to catch up with us on 'Let's Talk Twos - revisited' where we will be talking all about the child’s voice and 2’s in Action.

What is my behaviour trying to tell you? - 20^th & 27^th April, 9.30-11.30am or 6.30-8.30pm

This is our newly revised two part behaviour training suitable for all Early Years practitioners and will provide you with the skills and knowledge to develop your understanding of how to support children’s social and emotional needs.

Making sense of Autism – 28^th April 1-3pm

This session is suitable for all Early Years practitioners to learn how to identify the four key areas of difference that need to be taken into account when working with children on the autism spectrum and how to help them to build positive relationships with staff and their peers. You will also learn about how children on the autism spectrum can be unusually sensitive to everyday sights, sounds, touch, tastes and smells which can affect their learning and emotional state.

Learning Language in the Outdoors – 3^rd May 1-3pm

Delivered by our Specialist Speech and Language Therapists, this session shares the research behind learning in the outdoor environment and introduce our new group activities booklet containing lots of exciting, practical activities to support children's communication skill in your outdoor space.

Standing in the shoes of a 2 year old – 4^th & 11^th May, 9.30-11.30am & 6.30-8.30pm

This is our new and revised two year old training and is suitable for all practitioners who work with two year olds. In session 1 - ‘Getting to know me’ we will cover the role of the key person and how children like to learn. In session 2 - ‘Building an environment that is right for me’ we look closely at the physical and emotional environment for two year olds and supporting their feelings and emotions.
