The works to construct the access road and bridge as part of the wider Chelmer Waterside project are continuing. During these works you will see contractors from GRAHAM delivering the works on behalf of Chelmsford City Council. |

Over the last few weeks, the following works have been completed:

Continued with formed reinforced concrete works for all structure bases, abutments, and piers.

Dredged the river to allow boats to pass under the bridge, using the full width of the river.

Installed the steel box bridge beams for south integral approach spans.

Installed the road drainage, attenuation tanks and formed a 5,000m2 attenuation pond on the south bank of the river.

Resurfaced and reopened part of the Baddow Road car park following some of the drainage works.

The next stages of the works over the next few weeks will include:

Pouring concrete to the south approach deck.

Commencing S278 works to the existing highway network at the junction of Baddow Road and Parkway.
-
Preparation for the delivery of the main span steel bridge.
-
Mobilisation of the 500t crawler crane to install the bridge.
