The works to relocate the gas pressure reduction system (GPRS) as part of the wider Chelmer Waterside project have commenced. During these works you will see contractors from Morrison Energy Services and Cadent delivering the works on behalf of Chelmsford City Council. |

During the past month the team have completed the following:
- Established a site compound with the installation of welfare facilities, offices, areas for material storage and safety briefings.
- A concrete slab has been installed to protect the existing mains sewer that runs through the allotments from any damage.

- Installed an access road at the entrance to the allotments, this has been installed to improve access for materials and works to install the GPRS.
- Designated a temporary car park for allotment holders to use. Access to the allotments can be gained through the pedestrian gate to the north west.

Undertaken ground and ecological surveys of the site to ensure animals are not disturbed or safely relocated.

Removed trees that posed a risk to the works in line with the tree removal survey. The logs from the removed trees have been used to create new log pile habitats.

Over the next month the team will:
- Extend the entrance to the allotments to allow for construction activity.
- In the GPRS area the laying of concrete foundations in preparation for pipe work to be installed will begin.
