Parish Councils and community groups invited to virtual boundary review meeting
Parish Councils and community groups in Charnwood are being invited to join a virtual meeting to find out more about a consultation on council ward boundaries.
The Local Government Boundary Commission is an independent body that draws the ward boundaries and is currently consulting on the boundaries for Charnwood.
The commission is hosting a virtual meeting at 6pm on Wednesday May 19, 2021 to give Parish Councils and community groups an opportunity to find out more about the review and how to feedback on the consultation.
The virtual meeting will take place on Zoom and organisations can register their interest in the virtual meeting by emailing democracy@charnwood.gov.uk with their name, organisation details and email address. An invitation to the meeting will be sent before the meeting takes place.
Please note this virtual meeting is only for Parish Councils and community groups.
The consultation on warding arrangements is open until May 31.
The aim of the review is to recommend ward boundaries that mean each councillor represents approximately the same number of voters. It also helps ensure that the ward boundaries reflect the interests and identities of local communities, as well as promoting effective local government.
The commission has a dedicated section on its website where residents can give their views. Just visit: https://consultation.lgbce.org.uk/node/25847
People can also give their views by e-mail at reviews@lgbce.org.uk , and by post:
