Tune into this year’s Mayor’s Community Carol Service
Residents are being invited to tune into this year’s Mayor of Charnwood’s Community Carol service.
The event will be on Monday December 21 at 7pm at All Saints with Holy Trinity Church in Loughborough and while a small number of people can attend, Charnwood Borough Council is also going to live stream the event.
Tickets to attend are free and can be booked online, however, people can donate if they wish. Donations and gifts given on the night will be shared between the Mayor's Charities, LOROS and Admiral Nurses and the All Saints Christmas Appeal.
The service will include carols sung by the Wolf Ensemble and the All Saints Choir as well as readings that tell the Christmas story.
Cllr David Snartt, the Mayor of Charnwood, said: “While we would dearly love to come together as normal for our carol service, we simply cannot do that this year.
“Therefore, we can hold a small service in a Covid secure way, but we are making provision so people can also watch at home.
“It will be a very different Christmas this year, hopefully we can be together next year. I would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
The service will be held in line with current Covid-19 guidance meaning around 90 people will be able to attend – about a quarter of the church’s normal capacity.
Those attending will be required to wear a face covering during the service and strict social distancing measures will be in place to ensure everyone’s safety. People will be seated in their household or support bubbles and only the choir will be allowed to sing.
Attendance is by ticket only and will be available on a first come first served basis.
