Changes to Council services for new national lockdown measures
Following the Prime Minister’s announcement regarding new national lockdown measures, Charnwood Borough Council is planning to make a number of changes to its services.
The changes are set out via the link below and will be updated as further guidance becomes available.
More information about the support available to residents, Council tenants, and businesses is available through the following links:
Cllr Jonathan Morgan, Leader of Charnwood Borough Council, said: “We will continue to do everything within our power to support residents and local businesses at this difficult time.
“I would encourage people to keep an eye on our website and social media channels to keep up to date with the latest information.
“If you need support please consider contacting Charnwood Community Action. This is a campaign we launched with John Storer Charnwood in March and other partners and it has helped deliver over 15,000 parcels to hundreds of local people.
“It also offers a befriending service and access to volunteer support if needed. The hub was set up to help local people alongside other amazing organisations and community members and that’s what it has done.
“Since the start of the pandemic the Council has worked hard to distribute over £32 million of government funding to local businesses and we have always aimed to distribute this funding as quickly and as securely as possible. We will continue to do this with any new funding support which may become available.
“Hopefully if we all follow the rules and guidance we can make this second lockdown as short as we possibly can. We need to act now to save lives and livelihoods.”
