The next Bank Holiday is Monday August 31. As a result of this, there will be some changes to services and facility opening hours.
Council offices at Southfields
The main council office building at Southfields is currently open to customers with essential enquiries on an appointment-only basis. It will close at 4.30pm on Friday, 28 August and remain closed until 8.30am on Wednesday, 2 September.
Please note: The Customer Service Centre will be closed all day Tuesday, 1 September.

Refuse collections
Refuse, recycling and garden waste collections will not be affected by the Bank Holiday.
Bulky Collections
The cut off for online bulky waste collection bookings is 12pm on Friday August 28 and for telephone bulky waste collection bookings it is 2pm on Friday August 28.
Bulky collections booked by this time will be collected on Saturday, 29 August and items need to be presented by 6am.
Any collections booked after this time will be collected on Monday, 7 September.
Telephone Contact Centre
The Council's telephone Contact Centre arrangements are as follows:
- Closed Monday, 31 August
- Open for Emergency Repairs, Housing and Refuse & Recycling enquiries only 8.30am – 5pm on Tuesday, 1 September
- Reopen fully as normal from 8.30am on Wednesday, 2 September
