The first May Bank Holiday has changed from Monday May 4 to Friday May 8 due to VE Day taking place on Friday May 8. More information on VE Day can be found on this webpage.
As a result of this, there will be some changes to services and facility opening hours:
Council offices at Southfields
The main council office building at Southfields is currently closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Refuse collections
Garden waste collections are running in a reduced capacity at present. More information can be found at www.charnwood.gov.uk/gwr.
Refuse and recycling waste collections will be running as normal over the weekend.
The bulky waste collection service is currently suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Telephone Contact Centre
The Council's telephone Contact Centre is open until 5pm on Thursday May 7 and then:
- Closed Friday May 8 and reopen fully as normal from 8.30am on Monday, May 11

The Job Centre located in the council offices is currently closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Museum
Charnwood Museum is closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Charnwood Leisure Centres
All three of the leisure centres below are closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
