Stakeholder workshops shape Marine Spatial Planning Pilot in Anguilla
Marine spatial planning (MSP) is a process that can help users of the ocean make informed decisions about how to use marine resources sustainably. In July, five stakeholder workshops were held in Anguilla to develop a vision for MSP and gather insights on marine habitats and their uses to inform a MSP pilot study. Lessons learned from the pilot study will then be used to develop a marine spatial plan for Anguilla. Through MSP, Anguilla aims to maximise its potential for economic development and generate social benefits whilst protecting the marine environment.

Showcasing Blue Belt on the global stage at IMCC7
Blue Belt representatives from Cefas, MMO, St Helena, Tristan da Cunha and the Ascension Islands highlighted their achievements on a global stage through a series of talks and presentations at the 7th International Marine Conservation Congress, held from the 13th-18th October in South Africa.
The event was a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge with international Marine Protection Area (MPA) managers and underscore the importance of science, research and community involvement in MPA management.
