Leighton Buzzard Library welcomes customers back

We are please to announce that from today Tuesday 1 June, we will be able to welcome customers back inside Leighton Buzzard Library. Customers will be able to come inside, browse the shelves and pick some top reads to take home.  They will be able to book a 45 min slot to use the library computers. Photocopying and printing will also be available. Customers who do not wish to enter the library will still be able to use our Select and Collect service and pick up their free reservations and book bundles from the library entrance. All customers should continue to return books using the box or table at the library entrance. New customers will be able to join the library however where possible we ask that customers join online before they visit as this will reduce the time needed to collect their library card. Charges for overdue items and requests will be re-introduced at a later date. The library will be open for customers to visit or pick up their Select and Collect orders during the following hours: Tuesday          9am to 6pm Wednesday     9am to 6pm Thursday         9am to 6pm Friday              9am to 6pm Saturday          9am to 4pm

How have things changed at Leighton Buzzard Library?

• Face coverings must be worn when using the library (unless you have an exemption).
• Please sanitise your hands as you enter the library, there are also hand sanitising stations available within the building.
• The number of visitors will be limited. So If possible, please visit alone, or in your household or support bubble.
• Please scan the QR code as you enter, alternatively you will be asked to complete a Track and Trace form.
• You may find that the layout of the library has changed. Please take note of any directional signage and floor markings that have been put in place aid queuing and movement around the library.
• You will need your library card to use our Self-Service equipment.
• Computer usage is limited to 45 minutes per day for essential usage and needs to be prebooked. Please telephone the library on 0300 300 8059 to book your 45 minute slot.

• Please do not enter the building if you feel unwell or should be self-isolating.

• Magazines and Newspapers
• Public toilets

In order to maintain social distancing library activities and events will not be restarting at this time and staff will not be able to provide technical support to customers using library computers
