Meet the Director review and next steps

We really valued spending time with the parent carers who gave up their time to attend the Meet the Director sessions.  These meetings were invaluable to us in understanding parents lived experiences. We are using this information to help us move forwards to develop local SEND Services.

Following the approval of our Written Statement of Action (WSoA) from OFSTED and the Care Quality Commission (CQC),  our action plan is in place and we are working through this with SNAP Parent Carer Forum and other partners to ensure our services provided for our families,  meet their needs.

We have jointly reviewed the Meet the Director meetings and believe now is the time to change these to ensure we are communicating clearly with you about how things are progressing.  Moving forwards, we will be holding parent/carer sessions on the WSoA work instead of the Meet the Director sessions, to ensure we focus on aspects of the action plan and give you the opportunity to hear what we are doing to improve things and we want to understand from you if our approach is right for your families.

Creative Buzz Activities

Creative Buzz

A free programme of fun activities for children

A chance to take part in something different and get creative at home this Spring – all for free!  Choose from a selection of live creative workshops – from circus to beat box and musical theatre – as well as professional shows by the UK’s best children’s theatre companies. There’s something for everyone!

All activities are suitable for primary school aged children.

The 2pm live Zoom workshop sessions have been designed with children with SEND in mind. These sessions will have smaller class sizes, will move at a slower pace and activities will be adapted accordingly.

8-12 year olds: making music & stories for video games

If you have children in your life who are aspiring musicians or budding coders or who just love video games then Kaki_Hatchi might be a great Easter activity for them.

Our Inspiring Music team have funded 200 free spaces for Children in Central Bedfordshire to attend this five-day online activity.

Run by Conductive Music, the interactive sessions run from April 6th and last 90 minutes each. Children will be shown how story, coding and music form the ingredients of great video games. They will then learn how to mix these ingredients together to create an original game!

All five sessions will take place via Zoom video calls, and start at either 9am or 1.30pm. To book for free, visit the link below and use the following voucher code: inspiringMusic

Contactless trails at Houghton Hall Park

Houghton Hall

Houghton Hall Park have set up a free, contactless trail in the park for two weeks.

The trail consists of 10 window stickers or aluminium signs with embedded QR codes, so players can scan the codes to unlock activities.
