Tywi Valley Path officially opened
 The new 13mile traffic path between Carmarthen and Llandeilo was officially opened on 15 May at Bremenda Farm in Llanarthne. Funded by UK Government and Carmarthenshire County Council, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Wales Anna McMorrin joined Council leader Cllr Linda Evans and 70 others to celebrate the completion of this major project scheme that has already attracted national media visits from the UK Guardian and National Geographic with ParkRun and Marathon events in place.

Free “Discover Carmarthenshire” wall maps now available
 A new 2026 A3 laminated version of the popular Day Visitor Guide map is now available for Caravan and Camping sites. Designed to help visitors explore the county with ease, the larger-format map is ideal for display in reception areas, visitor welcome spaces and communal areas.
Limited numbers available on a first come, first served basis. Contact Sarah to reserve your map.

Promoting Summer school holidays
With the Whitsun school holidays soon upon us, we are already being asked for activities planned for the main summer holiday in July and August by local and national media. If you would like to be part of our marketing summer campaign featuring radio and digital adverts, make sure your event or activity for this key period is listed for free on the Discover Carmarthenshire website

Come and meet us at June roadshows
1 to 1 sessions are now available for the June Tourism and Business roadshow, offering the opportunity to connect directly with Council officers on support, funding opportunities, visitor information and marketing.
Held between 9am – 12.30pm, come and see us in Carmarthen (Tuesday 2 June), Ammanford (Wednesday 3 June) and Llanelli (Thursday 4 June)

New 2026 Day Visitor Guide
80,000 copies of the official 2026 Visitor Guide are being distributed across key sites including cafes and caravan sites, promoting more than 100 different places to visit and enjoy. Easy access to things to do through this leaflet and associated Discover Carmarthenshire website aids linger time and local visitor spend.

Llandovery gets more visitor information
We have been delighted to support business groups in Llandovery, Carmarthen and Llanelli to design and print local town visitor information in their respective areas, adding another layer to encouraging visitors to linger as long as possible, spending money in all areas of their towns.

Update for Accommodation registration
From Autumn 2026, it will be a legal requirement in Wales to register an accommodation property. Stay informed by signing up for updates from the Welsh Revenue Authority.
