Celebrating care experienced children and young people across Carmarthenshire on Care Day
This Care Day (Friday, 20 February), we celebrated the achievements of children and young people with care experience across our county.
From heading to university and running their own businesses, these are just some of the inspiring journeys of care experienced children and young people across Carmarthenshire.
We’re incredibly proud of our care experienced children and young people, today and everyday.
Increasing number of LGBTQ+ households fostering in Wales
This LGBTQ+ Adoption and Fostering Week (2-9 March), we celebrated the growing number of LGBTQ+ households making a difference across Wales, including here in Carmarthenshire.
Dee and Kaz Hamilton are newly approved foster carers with us and are already making an impact through respite care, offering a safe and welcoming space for children and young people.
With a 30% increase in LGBTQ+ households fostering in Wales, now is the time to consider whether you could take the first step.
Foster Care Fortnight is taking place from Monday, 11 May to Sunday, 24 May. This year's theme, This is Fostering, celebrates the many different stories that make up the fostering community.
Throughout the fortnight we'll be sharing real stories from our foster carers, highlighting the difference they make, and raising awareness of how fostering changes lives.
Follow along on our social media channels to hear these stories and see what fostering looks like in Carmarthenshire.
We've arranged a number of information events across the county before, during and after Foster Care Fortnight. These relaxed sessions are a great opportunity to meet the team, ask questions, and learn more about what fostering involves.
