Meet Louise and Ammanys (plus Ted, Elliott, Boo, and Boo's mum and dad). Louise and Ammanys are a mother and daughter team who have welcomed more than a dozen children into their home over the last three years.
From running a local stage school together, to winding down with family game nights, Louise and Ammanys have built a home filled with laughter, creativity and care.

Support and benefits of fostering with us
Choosing to foster is a big decision, and having the right support in place makes all the difference. At Foster Wales Carmarthenshire, we provide practical, emotional and financial support to help our foster carers focus on what matters most - caring for our children and young people.
As a foster carer with us, you could receive:
- Financial support
- Free swimming pool sessions at Actif leisure centres
- Free tickets to selected Scarlets home games.
- Discounts with partners including Cadw and the National Trust
- Blue Light Card.
|
Fostering with us also means becoming part of a local community of foster carers. We offer regular opportunities to connect with other foster carers through support groups, coffee mornings, wellbeing walks and social activities.

The impact we made in 2025
As we wrapped up 2025, we took time to reflect on what we achieved across Carmarthenshire.
- We supported 278 children and young people to stay local.
- We delivered 70 training sessions to our foster carers.
- We held 68 recruitment stands across the county.
- We received 110 enquires from people like you, interested in fostering.
This work continues to strengthen the support we offer our foster carers while helping our children and young people stay connected to their local communities.
