Sisterhood girls’ getaway campaign reaches 3million
Our new “Sisterhood” girls’ getaway marketing campaign is off to a fantastic start, reaching over 3 million people through digital advertising and public relations including travel influencers This Girl Walks and Wales on My Doorstep. The Tourism Development officers have secured press visits with The Guardian and Daily Mail newspapers who will be visiting in January to feature the campaign. Thank you to the 80+ businesses who are working with us on the itinerary for another digital influencer and large feature planned with Wales Online.

Tourism Ambassadors celebrated in County Hall
 The 2nd annual Tourism ceremony was held in the main council chamber in County Hall in November, with 40 Carmarthenshire ambassadors proudly being presented their Brone, Silver and gold certificates by Council Chair, Cllr Dot Jones.

New wedding supplier directory to launch
In a sector worth over £6m to the local economy, we are excited to be launching a new Wedding Supplier Directory at the “Meet the Supplier” Showcase on 20 January in the Great Glasshouse, Botanic Garden of Wales. The directory is designed to connect local wedding suppliers, wedding venues, and tourism partners, making it easy for couples to find everything Carmarthenshire has to offer.

Country Hotel is 1st to join new tourism business ambassador scheme
Ty Mawr Country Hotel has become the first business to join the brand-new Tourism Business Ambassador pilot scheme, working with officers to benefit from integrating the Ambassador course into their staff induction and training, alongside bespoke one-to-one support from a leading industry supplier. Supported by the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund, this initiative will strengthen our local tourism community and enhance visitor experiences across the county. Tywi Valley Path reaches another milestone
The Llandeilo to Llanarthne section of the stunning new Tywi Valley Path will open this December, marking another exciting milestone for this major scenic traffic free route between Carmarthen and Llandeilo. Walkers and cyclists can enjoy new stretches of this beautiful trail, connecting communities and showcasing the best of the historic Tywi Valley. Official full opening will be in 2026.

Small, local businesses get a chance to shine as the 100% Sir Gar Christmas pop-up shops make a festive comeback in Ammanford, Carmarthen and Llanelli. From 3–20 December, browse artisan gifts, handcrafted decorations, local food, fashion, and more. Supported by the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund.
