 New wedding “Meet the Supplier” showcase event
Weddings are big business and one that our local supply chain is set to maximise at this exciting new event planned for January 2026. Council officers from tourism development and Registrar sections are seeking to connect local suppliers with venues and tourism partners, strengthening the county’s wedding supply chain and creating unforgettable experiences to present the County as the most romantic destination in the UK thanks to UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund.
The showcase will bring together a mix of local businesses across four inspiring themes:

Made in Carmarthenshire (crafts, jewellery, soaps, tastings),

Taste Carmarthenshire (caterers and artisan food),

Experience Carmarthenshire (photography, entertainment, wellbeing), and
-
Styled by Carmarthenshire (florists, stylists, décor).

October what’s on
 Help your guests make the most of their stay by displaying the October 2025 what’s on listing in your business. From local markets to local community festivals, it’s packed with things to see and do across the County. Display it in your reception, welcome packs, or noticeboards - anywhere guests will see it.

Artisan street markets October dates
 Perfect to experience homemade food and drink, picking up a unique handcrafted gift, or soaking up the lively atmosphere our artisan street markets return in October, visiting Llanelli (9), Ammanford (10) and Carmarthen (11)

New accommodation registration scheme gains final approval
Royal Assent was given in September 2025 for a Welsh Government Act to introduce a registration of all visitor accommodation providers in Wales. Commencing in 2026 and overseen by the Welsh Revenue Authority, you must register with them by law if you charge visitors for overnight stays in Wales.
Accommodation providers can find out more by registering for their online seminars in November.

Funding available now for skills
Delivered by Business Wales, tourism and hospitality businesses can access funding to support staff to attend accredited training courses online or in person in areas such as digital skills and sector-specific training. Employers can apply for 50% funding towards costs.

Visit Wales webinar
Join Visit Wales’ free industry webinar on 13 November, 2–3:30 pm, to discover the latest on the Year of Croeso and Hwyl campaign. This session will share insights into their long-term marketing strategy for 2026 and beyond, how PR and media activity is positioning Wales as a must-visit destination, and opportunities for businesses to engage with travel trade partners. New Drama ‘Y Golau: Dŵr’ filmed in Carmarthenshire screens soon
Carmarthenshire has taken centre stage in the brand-new S4C drama Y Golau: Dŵr, which premiered in September and will air on Channel 4 in the New Year. Featuring acclaimed Welsh and UK actors, the production not only showcases our landscapes but also supported the local economy through accommodation, catering, and secondary spend.

Wales ambassador week – get involved!
We’re getting ready to celebrate Wales Ambassador Week 17 -23 November, and we’d love for our Carmarthenshire Ambassadors to be part of it!
This is a brilliant chance to showcase what makes our area special whether that’s a guided walk, a talk, a workshop, or another activity that shines a light on Carmarthenshire’s culture, heritage, and landscapes.

Minister visits Carmarthenshire museum following major Brilliant Basics investment
The Minister for Economy, Energy and Planning, Rebecca Evans MS, visited Carmarthenshire Museum Monday 15 September to see the results of a major improvement project made possible through the Welsh Government’s Brilliant Basics fund.
Carmarthenshire Museum received £264,000 towards a total project value of £330,000, to deliver a range of enhancements that significantly improve visitor experience.
In addition, Carmarthenshire County Council successfully secured Brilliant Basics funding to upgrade facilities at Llansteffan Green. This scheme received £224,000 from the Welsh Government, contributing to a total project value of £280,000.

Year of Croeso: weather-proofing fund for tourism attractions
Visit Wales has launched a capital grants fund to help tourism attractions in Wales become more resilient to poor weather. Aimed at boosting year-round tourism and economic resilience, grants of £5,000–£20,000 (covering up to 75% of costs) are available for eligible weather-proofing improvements. Projects must be completed by 31 March 2026.
Open to accredited or VAQAS-eligible small to medium Welsh tourism businesses, the fund supports measures that reduce the impact of bad weather on operations and visitor experience.
