Official ceremony for Carmarthenshire Tourist Ambassadors

The County Council will be hosting a celebration event for our first set of Carmarthenshire Tourism Ambassadors on 13 September with certificates being officially awarded in County Hall by Cllr Hazel Evans, our Cabinet member for Regeneration, Leisure, Culture and Tourism.

Look out for your official invitation via email. If you haven’t become an Ambassador already to upskill yourself, don’t delay and start your gold, silver or bronze modules asap.

National Tourism Awards for Wales 2025 are open

Hosted by Visit Wales, the National Tourism Awards for Wales will return in Spring 2025 with 12 categories including best hotel, event and place to eat. Carmarthenshire businesses can enter at a South West Wales regional level, with entries due by 18 August. Good luck!

Next County Council Tourism business roadshow announced

After meeting 10 local businesses at last month’s 6^th roadshow in Llansteffan on items from marketing to recycling to business support, Council officers head west for the 7^th event in Whitland on Wednesday 18 September.

These bookable 20 minute, one on one sessions are free to attend, and available on a first come first served basis. You decide which officers you want to meet and chat with.

Exciting new partnerships to promote Carmarthenshire’s during the summer

Several partnerships have been put in place to attract additional visitors over the summer season. Digital and print promotions have been confirmed with 4 of the UK’s leading subscription magazines for cycling - MBUK, Cycling Weekly and Bike Radar. Sponsored advertorials have also featured in Coast magazine and Wales Online targeting their combined readership of over 1m.

Major Ceredigion motorsport event drives into County

As well as supporting community events, Council staff also liaise with those organising much larger festivals and events for licensing, public health and road closures. Rali Ceredigion, a European Rally Championship event, has increased its 2024 plan to have an exciting new route in Carmarthenshire and we look forward to welcoming the many participants, crews and spectators from 30 August to 1 September.

TXGB are a digital marketing platform working with Visit Wales to provide an efficient solution for tourism businesses to promote themselves across multiple sites and campaigns.
