Congratulations to everyone who has completed this year's Summer Reading Challenge, Marvellous Makers!
Over 6200 children signed-up and we are looking forward to presenting as many of them as possible with their Marvellous Makers certificate and medal - they may be back at school, but they've still time to finish.
We recruited 157 Young Volunteers to help sign-up the children, listen to them talk about their books and help with 230 activities taking place across the county.
To find the date of your library's Marvellous Makers Award Ceremony pick up a Summer What's On brochure or visit Library Live | What's On.

Just as the seasons transition, so too do our experiences, cultures, and identities within the ESEA communities and beyond”.
Why not stop by your local library or visit our catalogue online to browse and borrow our many fiction and non-fiction books about East and South East Asia? From history to memoirs to novels to cookery books, we have a range of titles by authors from East and South East Asia and about the very diverse heritages from this part of the world.

6 million people in the UK have high blood pressure but don’t know they have it, according to Blood Pressure UK. High blood pressure increases your risk of having a stroke or heart attack. It’s also a risk factor for kidney disease, vascular dementia and other illnesses.
You can reduce the risk by lowering blood pressure with lifestyle changes or medication. But the most important first step you need to take is to know your numbers.
Know Your Numbers Week takes place during 2nd – 8th September. Get your blood pressure checked and stay on top of your health.
