Spread the Word: National Databank

National Databank

As a library member you belong to a community with sharing at its heart. Our “Spread the Word” campaign invites you to help us get the word out about some of the great resources libraries offer, so that even more people can enjoy them.

Did you know that Cambridgeshire Libraries are part of Good Things Foundation’s National Databank scheme, which makes free data SIMs cards or vouchers available to anyone 18+ from a low-income household? Recipients can self-declare as eligible, and the support is available for a maximum period of 12 months. The data can be used with any SIM-enabled device.

This offer is available at Arbury Court, Barnwell Road, Bar Hill, Cambourne, Cambridge Central, Clay Farm, Ely, Huntingdon, March, St Ives, St Neots and Wisbech libraries.  Ask at your local library for more details.

Older people chatting

Our libraries have resources to support people living with dementia, their families, friends and carers.  These include memory boxes, dementia-friendly jigsaw puzzles and games, Pictures to Share books and the Reading Well for Dementia book collection.  Anyone can borrow these resources on their library card.

Dementia Social Groups in libraries

Some of our libraries host monthly social groups for people living with dementia, their families and carers. These events are run by library staff and volunteers, with refreshments provided.  Attendees can share information, take part in activities and enjoy time spent together.

World Breastfeeding Week, 1-7 August 2024

The theme for this year’s campaign is “Closing the gap: Breastfeeding support for all”, with a focus on ensuring all women, especially those from vulnerable groups, get the support they need to breastfeed their babies.  To find out what is needed and how you can support women who breastfeed, please read World Breastfeeding Week 2024 key messages.
