A free drop-in event at Cambridge Central Library
Saturday 11th February 11am-1pm and 2-4pm
Come and chat with local authors. You’ll also be able to buy their books or art prints.
11am-1pm meet our local authors of books for adults.
2-4pm bring your children along to take part in simple craft activities or listen to stories and rhymes.
All welcome and there is no need to book - just come along on the day! Adults need to stay with their children at all times.

February is LGBTQ+ History Month and we have an exciting programme of events planned, both in person and online. These include our popular monthly LGBTQ+ Board Games Social at Cambridge Central Library, a Living Knowledge Network streamed event where Jackie Kay and Bernardine Evaristo discuss the life and work of Blues singer Bessie Smith, a pop-up reading group, a talk on LGBTQ+ history in Cambridgeshire, and family craft and storytime events. Our February Online Resource of the Month is the British Newspaper Archive, which gives you access to millions of UK newspaper articles from as early as 1800 and including local sources such as the Cambridge Chronicle and Journal, Huntingdon, Bedford & Peterborough Gazette, Cambridge Independent Press and many more.
Users must register before they can use the site, but it is free to use in your local library. Book a library computer to access it.

February 7th is Safer Internet Day, and to mark the occasion we’re hosting a free drop-in session at Cambridge Central Library on the day (10.30-11.30am). You’re invited to join our friendly staff and volunteers to learn more about how you and your family and friends can use the Internet safely.
