Dementia has become one of the biggest challenges in all societies, with tens of millions of people living with dementia worldwide. However, most of us have little understanding of this illness and of its impacts on people and families who are affected.
World Alzheimer's Month is the international campaign by the Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI) every September to raise awareness and challenge the stigma that surrounds dementia. And the World Alzheimer’s Day takes place on 21 September every year being the focal point of this month long campaign.
This September in your hub libraries, there will be health information display with leaflets about dementia as well as information for carers. If you would like to learn more about dementia and people’s experiences, please take a look of the collection of Dementia Books on Prescription in your library. #WorldAlzMonth #LetsTalkAboutDementia
