The results of Caerphilly County Borough Council’s (CCBC) draft Waste Strategy public consultation will be considered by councillors over the coming weeks.
The Waste Strategy sets out the strategic direction and longer-term plan to ensure that the Council meets and exceeds statutory recycling and decarbonisation performance targets.

The incident happened at in the night of June 20 early hours of 21 June 24 at the council depot in Abercarn.
Gardening and workshop equipment worth thousands of pounds including blowers, chainsaws, hedge cutters and strimmers, were taken alongside a pint of milk from the fridge.
The BT wires were cut from a telegraph pole disabling the on-site cameras.

The federation of schools is a legal process which enables schools to work together through a formal structured process by sharing a governing body that will make decisions in the best interest of all the schools, staff and pupils in that federation.
Cwmaber Infants School and Cwmaber Junior School have been informally collaborating since September 2020, with both schools sharing the same Head Teacher. The Governing Body of both schools have asked to proceed to formal consultation for federation status in partnership with the Local Authority.

Three Caerphilly County Borough schools and their teaching staff are feeling proud today after winning awards at the South Wales Argus Schools and Education Awards 2024 on Wednesday 26th June.
Libanus Primary School in Blackwood won the STEM Project of the Year, and teacher Lynne Richards scooped the Above and Beyond Award.
Richard Owen. Idris Davies 3 to 18 School was named Headteacher of the Year and Newbridge School won the Secondary School of the Year Awar

Bargoed town centre will become Caerphilly County Borough’s hottest new music venue this July with the very first Bargoed Summer Music Festival!
This brand-new event will consist of a main music stage on Lowry Plaza and four busking areas throughout the town centre; linking in with The Square Royale, Murray’s/Emporium Snooker Club and Bourton’s Live Music Café Bar to bring the whole town centre to life!
In addition, funfair rides and plenty of food and drink stalls will be onsite to help create the perfect day to relax, dance and have some summertime fun!
The Summer Reading Challenge is the UK's biggest ‘reading for pleasure’ programme for children and helps get approximately 700,000 children into libraries each year.
The Summer Reading Challenge is produced by The Reading Agency and delivered in partnership with Caerphilly libraries. The challenge, aimed at children aged 4 - 11 years, is to read six or more library books over the summer.
This year children will join the Marvellous Makers who are busy getting creative for a big festival…but the objects they need have mysteriously disappeared. Children will help the Marvellous Makers find the objects they need to complete their creation
