Bank Support Offer

Bank 2

You will be aware that a number of high street banks have closed or are due to close.            A recent article written by Age Cymru, highlighted the proactive work Caerphilly County Borough Council is carrying out in partnership with the banks, to ensure an adequate alternative provision is offered.

Library services have been working closely with Barclays, HSBC and the Halifax and representatives from these banks host sessions to support and assist customers.

Appointments aren't required - simply call in to one of the sessions advertised.

And finally........

It doesn't matter how famous, rich or successful you become in life.  These media personalities tell us how public libraries have contributed to, and enriched their lives -

Supporting Libraries Week earlier this year, Ricky Gervais said on Twitter/X ,

I had no money growing up.  My dad was a labourer and my mum did everything to make ends meet.  Men worked hard.  Women worked miracles.  But education was free.  As was the local library.  I knew books were a passport to a better life.

Another advocate is actor and comedian Billy Connolly who says,

When I was an unhappy little boy, going to the library changed my life.  It may have even saved it.  Amazing as it sounds, literature can do that for you.  Books are your ticket to the whole world.  They're a free ticket to the entire earth.

We can help you to change your life - we can help to educate, learn and inspire you.  We can make you feel safe, less isolated, warm and signpost you to services who can support you.
