A brand new Public Space Protection Order will see dogs banned from marked sports pitches in Caerphilly County in the interest of player safety.
Following public consultation, in November 2021 Caerphilly County Borough Council approved a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) which contains new restrictions in relation to dog control.

Leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council, Cllr. Philippa Marsden was joined by special guests to mark the official opening of the new community athletics hub at Rhiw Syr Dafydd Primary School in Oakdale.
The impressive site has been operational for a short period as both a school and community facility for countywide clubs and largescale competitions and events.
Continuing our successful partnership with Welsh Government, the facility has been installed by securing funding from the Welsh Government Community Hub Grant. The new synthetic athletics track will be the first of its kind in Caerphilly County Borough and will allow residents to train all year round on the high-quality durable surface.

- The A472 Crown roundabout, Pontllanfraith will be closed from 8pm to 6am on Tuesday 8th March for four nights.
- The A469 Hengoed, New Road roundabout will be closed from 8pm to 6am on Friday 11th March for three nights.

Vehicles that require a permit will once again be able to access all Caerphilly County Borough Council Household Waste Recycling Centres, subject to a tipping permit being provided.
Permits will be available through face-to-face appointments at Ty Penallta only, where a physical permit will be provided immediately or, for the first time, online, where a PDF of the permit will be emailed to the resident to same working day.

The former Plumbsave unit in Lon Y Twyn, Caerphilly has been redeveloped and transformed into brand-new high specification brewhouse and microbrewery.
The newly renovated building will be utilised as a brewery bar, serving fresh craft beer and food, whilst offering its customers an unprecedented 270 degree view over the brewhouse.
The developers behind the project hope that the new venue will become a much-utilised community hub and a respected tourist destination, producing high- quality award winning beer and Caerphilly’s only craft beer bar.

The Nikwax Caerphilly Challenge Series is set to return on Saturday May 7th 2022 – with its 10th Caerphilly Challenge Series, The Twmbarlwm Trek.
The Twmbarlwm Trek however, is much older than 10 years, with the first Trek taking place 38 years ago in 1984. Organised by Islwyn County Borough council.
As always… The Caerphilly Challenge Series will have routes suitable for all fitness levels and abilities.

Caerphilly County Borough Council launch new Make One Small Change campaign, aimed at making the Borough inclusive of the Welsh language. Launching on 1st March 2022 the campaign has been inspired by what is thought to be the last words of St David himself, “gwenwch y pethau bychain”, translated as “do the little things”. Each month throughout 2022 Caerphilly County Borough Council will be encouraging residents and staff members to pledge to make one small change to help to further their use and understanding of the Welsh language.
