Childcare Provider Special Bulletin

NEW Covid19 Grants

Money

Welsh Ministers have allocated funding to each Local Authority in Wales to secure continued provision for the childcare sector by supporting providers facing sustainability issues.

Childcare providers should only apply for where there is a clear need to support the sustainability of the childcare provision and a real risk of setting closure in the long term due to the detrimental impact of the Covid19 Pandemic.

Two grants are available:

  • Covid Reignite and Recovery Grant
  • Short Term Sustainability Grant

Applications will be accepted throughout this financial year 2021-2022, but funding is limited so we encourage you to apply early if you feel you meet the requirements of the grant award.

Please read the application forms and terms and conditions thoroughly before you apply. If you have any queries or require further guidance or need support to complete your application, please contact your specified Childcare Officer.

Covid Reignite and Recovery Grant

To provide sustainability funding to support childcare settings to continue operating throughout and beyond the challenges of Covid-19 where no other public funding is being provided to cover the same costs. This grant is not intended to replace any profit lost during this financial year.

Please complete the application form and read and sign the terms and conditions. Return both documents to fis@caerphilly.gov.uk.

Short Term Sustainability Grant

The purpose of the support we may be able to offer your setting, is to help you to remain sustainable and continue to operate whilst the numbers of children attending your setting are lower than previously. This could be due to the pandemic or other factors out of your control.  This grant will support you in the shorter term towards rental costs and will be awarded on an individual basis for one term maximum.

Please complete the application form and read and sign the terms and conditions. Return both documents to fis@caerphilly.gov.uk.
