COVID-19 - Business Impact Survey

Business support

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on society and the economy across Wales and the UK. Supporting businesses as they recover from this shock is essential, especially as the data shows that the world is likely to enter a recession which is likely to have further consequences for the economy.

To help develop such support, Caerphilly County Borough Council are looking to understand the key challenges facing businesses within the County Borough in response to COVID-19.

This survey has been created and delivered by Wavehill, economic and social research consultants, on behalf of Caerphilly County Borough Council to provide the evidence and insight needed from the business community to help develop recovery plans.

Blackwood and Risca High Streets may become hot spots for alfresco dining as outdoor areas are set to host seating in certain parts of the high street.

After overwhelming support from local members and traders, the council has taken the decision to assist businesses to introduce outdoor seating along the existing highway or parking bays on the high street in both Blackwood and Risca. The approach has been replicated across Wales in an effort to support local businesses to comply with social distancing rules when trading while recovering from the economic impact of Covid-19. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE
