Information for residents ahead of reopening of recycling centres
Caerphilly County Borough Council has issued guidance for residents ahead of the reopening of its Household Waste Recycling Centres.
The guidance comes following a recent announcement from the council’s Leader that all six of its Household Waste Recycling Centres will begin to reopen to the public from Tuesday 26th May.
Families encouraged to sign up for free school meals service
Families eligible for free school meals in the Caerphilly county borough are being encouraged to sign up for the council’s home delivery service.
The service, coordinated by Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Catering Team, sees eligible families receive a nutritionally balanced food parcel delivered each week whilst schools are closed.

Local company donates vital equipment to support care effort
Transcend Packaging has donated 1500 single-use face protectors for use in care homes across Caerphilly County Borough.
The face shields have been distributed to Ty Iscoed, and Min-y-Mynydd and the council’s supported living homes so that they can continue to provide essential care and support to vulnerable people throughout the coronavirus crisis.
Works planned for new pedestrian crossing at Pantside, Newbridge
Caerphilly County Borough Council has announced plans to construct a new pedestrian crossing facility beneath the existing pedestrian footbridge linking Newbridge to Pantside.
The new facility will replace the temporary crossing put in place following significant damage caused to the footbridge by a lorry mounted crane.
Hope grows at hub with tree
A special tree is helping youngsters showcase their wishes for the future. The wooden “Tree of Hope” was added to Idris Davies Childcare Hub, to help mark Mental Health Awareness Week.
Children have been encouraged to hang personal messages of hope and positivity on the structure, which was created by the charity Growing Space.
