Welsh Government’s Business Rate related grants schemes are being administered by local authorities across Wales. So far Caerphilly County Borough Council has received just under 2,500 applications from businesses across the county borough, of which 2077 have been processed totalling £24.505m. A small percentage of those businesses have been unsuccessful in their applications and the Council is urging those businesses to explore the Welsh Government’s Economic Resilience Fund through the online eligibility checker.

A Pontllanfraith based company is gearing up to begin manufacturing vital ventilator connectors to help during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Motion29, based at Newbridge Road Industrial Estate in Pontllanfraith, has secured a grant of £6,811 from Caerphilly County Borough Council to purchase equipment enabling them to be ready to react at short notice in supplying connectors for ventilator project

The FSP is a Welsh Government funded programme that provides a financial contribution towards the upskilling of employees of businesses based in Wales and includes employees who have been furloughed, as a result of COVID-19.
The Flexible Skills Programme has been tailored to support business deliver on-line training and provides a financial contribution of up to 50% towards eligible costs to help the upskilling of employees of businesses based in Wales. Current programmes include covering the following areas

- advanced manufacturing and engineering
- compound semiconductor cluster
