Tour Your Town
Tour Your Town celebrates Broxtowe Borough’s rich cultural heritage as well as the people that make the place special.
This campaign is as much for residents as it is for visitors, with so much to do on our doorstep in Broxtowe that many of us can often overlook, we're truly lucky to be surrounded by so much history, nature and culture.
Become a tourist in your own town this summer and explore what our Borough has to offer - visit that local attraction you’ve always meant to see, pop into that restaurant or pub you keep hearing about, learn something new about the place you live and discover the people that make us proud to be from Broxtowe!
The D.H. Lawrence Festival kicks off tomorrow
Head down to the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum for 3:00pm tomorrow, Saturday 1 August, for the start of the annual D.H. Lawrence Festival.
The festival consists of a variety of events in and around Eastwood over a 6 week period, so this launch event gives you a great chance to pick up a free festival brochure and plan which events you want to go to over the 6 weeks.
There will also be poetry readings from Annette Pateman and a free refreshments on offer too. It’s also a great chance to reflect and share your memories of the museum as we continue to celebrate our 50th year.
Our first Summer Fun Day takes place next week
Our first Summer Fun Day is happening on Thursday next week!
You don’t need an expensive day out to keep your kids entertained - bring the whole family down to Coronation Park, Eastwood, on 6 August from 12:00pm to 4:00pm for an event that’s completely FREE to attend!
Here is what we have lined up for you in Eastwood:

Exhibition exploring facets of life lands at the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum
'The Optimist's Incomplete' exhibition, exploring facets of life, is now running at at the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum.
Inspired in part by D.H. Lawrence’s poetry and literary oeuvre, the exhibition explores a broad range of themes and covers varying degrees of optimism and what it means to be or not be through photography and poetry across its key themes of love, (dis)trust, memory, nostalgia, sensuality, migration, inheritance, fracture, healing, and unfinished becoming.
The exhibition is available to view for free until Sunday 13 September in the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum’s gallery during opening hours, Thursday – Saturday, 10:00am – 4:00pm.
