Repairs Appointment Tips
 Got an appointment with Repairs coming up? There are some things you can do to help us get your repairs dealt with more quickly:
- Ensure we have your up to date contact details
- Be at home for any repairs appointments. If you need to cancel, please call us as soon as possible.
- Only your child at home? They need to be over 18.
- Ensure that the operative has access to the area they need to work in.
- Please secure your pets.
- Please refrain from smoking upon the operative’s arrival.
- Please make sure the work area is clean and tidy.
Remember, you can report your repair via our online form
Our appointment slots for non-urgent repairs are 8am – 12:30pm (AM) and 12:30pm – 5pm (PM). Please be aware that if your job is an emergency, you will need to be home until we attend as we will be unable to provide a time.
It’s important to tell us if you or other family members have additional needs - for example, the very young or old and people with serious or long-term health conditions, so we can deal with issues more quickly than normal.

Home Improvements Permission
 With spring in full swing, many of us are thinking about making improvements to our homes. If you are considering significant alterations, you must request permission.
Making a request is easy- simply email tenancy@broxtowe.gov.uk

Activities at Independent Living
 At our Independent Living schemes, Activities Coordinators organise a wide range of engaging activities designed to foster connection, creativity, and wellbeing. These include:
- Lunch Clubs: Bringing residents together for a warm meal and good company.
- Reminiscence Sessions: Encouraging storytelling and memory sharing to spark joy and connection.
- Music Quizzes: Fun and interactive sessions that combine nostalgia with friendly competition.
- Craft Activities: Hands-on creative workshops that promote relaxation and self-expression.
- NHS App Talks: Supporting digital inclusion by helping residents understand and use health-related technology.

Housing's Garden Competition
National Gardening Week 2026 celebrates gardening and its benefits.
Housing wants to celebrate the tenants and leaseholders that cultivate beautiful gardens in Broxtowe.
The prizes include £50 or £25 gardening vouchers, afternoon tea and one winner gets a private visit to one of the gardens from the Beeston and Chilwell Garden trail plus tea and cakes!

Where are Housing this May?
 Eastwood Walk and Play
On Tuesday 26 May, Housing are attending the walk and play starting with story time in Eastwood Library and ending at Coronation park. If you're in the area please come along.
Housing Influence Panel
On Wednesday 13 May the Housing Influence Panel are meeting to discuss the Homeownership Team and Health & Safety.

Neighbourhood Inspections
Housing Officers conduct regular inspections of the estates and communal areas.
We encourage tenants, shared owners and leaseholders to attend. It is your estate, and nobody knows it better than you.
