Repairs Appointment - Help Us to Help You

Calling by washing machine

Got an appointment with Repairs coming up? There are some things you can do to help us get your repairs dealt with more quickly:

  • Ensure we have your up to date contact details so that we can get in touch.
  • Be at home for any repairs appointments. If you need to cancel, please call us as soon as possible.
  • Only your child at home? They need to be over 18.
  • Ensure that the operative has access to the area they need to work in.
  • Please secure your pets.
  • Please refrain from smoking upon the operative’s arrival.

Remember, you can report your repair via our online form

Our appointment slots for non-urgent repairs are 8am – 12:30pm (AM) and 12:30pm – 5pm (PM). Please be aware that if your job is an emergency, you will need to be home until we attend as we will be unable to provide a time.

We can deal with issues more quickly than normal based on your needs so it’s important to tell us if you or other family members have additional needs - for example, the very young or old and people with serious or long-term health conditions.

Survey Winners

Smiling woman on a bench

Every year, if you answer our survey as part of the Regulator of Social Housing’s Tenant Satisfaction Measures, you are automatically entered into a prize draw with the chance to win a £50 shopping voucher.

We spoke to Gilly about her experiences of the quality of Housing services provided by Broxtowe Borough Council:

'I've had very positive experiences with different staff at the Council, particularly the Independent Living Coordinator who supported the move in and installing Tunstall unit.

There were a number of works that needed to be completed on the bungalow when we moved in two years ago.  So, working with the Modernisations Team, we were able to choose the layout and colours of our new bathroom and kitchen.

The team were very professional, and the work was excellent.

Thank you for the voucher. I hope to spend it on some nice food from Marks and Spencer's or Homesense.'

When the 2025/26 survey comes around later this year, please add your voice.

Spotlight on Activities in our Independent Living Schemes

Jewellery Valuation

Together with the tenants at Greenwood Court, our Activities Coordinator hosted an exciting session of Antiques and Jewellery Valuations at one of their latest coffee mornings. Attending to share their knowledge and value items was two experts in the field of Jewellery and Antiques.

There was a short presentation on trends in antique valuations followed by a quiz.

Did you know that in auction houses, older isn't always better?

Since price depends on demand, currently 90's era items like Pokemon trading cards have seen an increase in value as vintage collectables.

Tenants were encouraged to bring along items they want to learn more about as well as having an estimate of the value.

Although there were no unexpected treasures unearthed, tenants found it interesting to hear what different materials made up their jewellery and in what decade it was produced. They were impressed by the experts' knowledge and appreciated understanding more about the history of their personal objects.

Radio TeleSWITCH

Electricity metre

You might have been told by your electricity supplier you need to have your radio teleswitch (RTS) or dynamically teleswitched (DTS) electricity meter replaced.

This is because the radio frequency it uses to switch between peak and off-peak rates is being switched off.

The radio frequency is expected to be switched off on 30 June 2025. Ofgem, the energy regulator, currently expects all RTS and DTS meters to be replaced by this date.

Find out more by visiting Citizens Advice - If you have a radio teleswitch or dynamically teleswitched energy meter - Citizens Advice
