- £26 per each additional bin.

Food Waste Collections for Businesses
From 1 April 2025, businesses with ten or more employees are required to comply with new Government legislation to separate food waste for collection.
The food waste collected will be transferred to an anaerobic digestion plant where it will be broken down by bacteria to generate energy and material for fertiliser, which is more efficient than incineration with general waste.
Food waste collections for households will not start until October 2027.
For current customers and new customers, more information is available on our Trade Waste webpage.

Recycle it Right – Contamination

Well done, nearly 60% of what you put in your green-lidded recycling bins in January was recyclable paper and card!
In the past few months there has been a decline in the amount of contaminants being put in the recycling bin which is brilliant. Contamination refers to any items or materials that are not recyclable in that bin.
In January 2025, 15.9% of the items in the green-lidded recycling bin were not recyclable in that bin, this includes glass which needs to be recycled separately in your Broxtowe glass bag or red-lidded bin. In January last year, 21% of the items were incorrect, so this is a great improvement!
Keep up the hard work and make sure to check our website to see what can go in your green-lidded recycling bin so you can Recycle It Right to help increase your Borough’s recycling rate.

Taking action on street cleanliness
 You said 📢, we listened👂
You said: Street cleanliness in the Borough is on the decline.
We did: We understand the importance of street cleanliness so we will be working with third party environmental enforcement partner, WISE in late spring to tackle fly tipping, littering and dog fouling.
Let’s clean up our streets together!
