Broxtowe Borough Council has launched a new grants programme.

The application window is now live and closes at 5pm on Monday 9 September 2024.


Broxtowe Business Grants

Grants of up to £10,000 are available with 20% required match-funding to support small businesses, high street businesses and to support companies to reduce their carbon footprint.

Introduction to Marketing AI and ChatGPT

SWEF Enterprise Fund

SWEF awards grants of up to £2,000 to young people who need support with a business investment.

Eligibility – you can apply if you:

  • Are aged between 18 to 30 years old
  • Currently live and work in Nottingham City or Nottinghamshire County
  • Are from a low income household or facing other challenges preventing you from developing your business
  • Are running a business that has been trading for under two years (including those about to start a new business)
  • Already have a sole trader or business bank account in the name of the business or are in the process of doing this

Application cut off is the 7th of each month.

East Midlands Apprenticeship Ambassador Network

EMAAN

 

The East Midlands Apprenticeship Ambassador Network (EMAAN) has a new Employer Chair, Charlotte Nicholls. Charlotte is also the Council’s HR and Apprenticeship Officer and started out her career as an apprentice at The Council.

Charlotte says “I initially joined EMAAN as an Apprentice Ambassador to promote apprenticeships and talk about my experiences as an apprentice. In 2022 I began managing the Council’s apprenticeship levy and became an Employer Ambassador. EMAAN is a platform to be an advocate for apprenticeships and hiring apprentices. By being an ambassador, employers can network to discuss best practice and have a say in the future of apprenticeships”

East Midlands Combined County Authority’s Business Advisory Board

Representatives from across the East Midlands are being sought to help strengthen the connection between the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) and local businesses.

EMCCA’s Business Advisory Board will include 16 members, including representatives from the private and public sector and East Midlands Chamber of Commerce.

Nottinghamshire Carers Association: Carers in Employment

Through the Carers in Employment initiative, Nottinghamshire Carers Association (NCA) want to work with major employers and SMEs in Nottinghamshire to support them to retain those employees who are at risk of leaving the workforce.

Employers will benefit from free training, resources and ongoing support from NCA. Understanding that a “one size fits all” approach isn’t always feasible, NCA will help to review policies and procedures to enable employers to offer a level of support that is appropriate to their own workplace.

Support includes;

  • Attracting and retaining employees
  • Reducing recruitment and training costs
  • Reducing sick and absenteeism
  • Increasing employee morale
