Focus Groups for Local Businesses - Climate Change and Green Futures Strategy

We need your views on Climate Change!

In 2019, Broxtowe Borough Council made an ambitious commitment to become carbon neutral by 2027. As a result, in 2020, the Council created its ‘Climate Change Strategy and Green Futures’ Programme to provide strategic direction on how this target would be reached.

Climate change is complex and dynamic and as such the Climate Change and Green Futures Strategy has been revised and is now in draft form to reflect this. The Strategy is now at a stage where we require input from our stakeholders to ensure that the document is comprehensive and inclusive.

From the 12 June, we will be undertaking a consultation process with residents, businesses and other key stakeholders to seek views on the draft strategy. The process will be open for four weeks and is being undertaken by MSc Environmental Leadership and Management students from the University of Nottingham.

As part of the process, we would like to run some focus group sessions with businesses in order to obtain your views. As such, we are inviting you to take part in a face to face focus group session scheduled on the following date and times:

Saturday 24 June – 10am – 12pm and 12.30pm – 2.30pm

If you would like to take part in a session, please email: depot@broxtowe.gov.uk to register. Please include in your email your contact details and the date and time you can attend. If you are unable to make the above date but are still interested in taking part, please register your interest and we will try and include you in other focus group sessions.

Carers Week: 5 - 11 June

Carers Week logo

Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.

Carers UK’s definition of an unpaid carer is - Anyone who has responsibility for care and support of relatives or friends who are older, disabled, seriously ill (physically or mentally) and unable to care for themselves.

Unpaid carers deserve recognition and support wherever they are in their caring journey: whether that’s in the workplace, education, in a healthcare setting or when interacting with their communities.
