Final Call for Grant Applications for Kimberley, Eastwood, Beeston and Chilwell Businesses
  With only a few days to go before a £75,000 grant scheme closes, business in Kimberley, Eastwood, Beeston and Chilwell are being encouraged to apply for funding as soon as possible.
Local businesses can apply for grants of up to £2,500 from the council for things like:
- Shop and business frontage improvements including signage
- Street scene or conservation area related initiatives
- Environmental energy saving measures
- Disability access improvements
- Digital, productivity and ecommerce investments that improve productivity or create jobs

The building blocks for £16.5m of investment projects have been laid in Kimberley over recent weeks, as part of its successful Levelling Up bid.
“We want local people to feel the benefits of this investment in their town as quickly as possible,” said Councillor Milan Radulovic MBE, Leader of Broxtowe Borough Council.

Broxtowe Praised as an Ambitious Council in Latest Local Government Review
Broxtowe Borough Council has been praised for achieving “more than expected as a Borough Council” with one of the most comprehensive approaches to carbon reduction the team has seen.
The peers highlighted the passion that shines through from Councillors and Officers when delivering on climate change. The Council, alongside the Local Government Association has published a new report that shows that a peer review of the Council has come out with positive findings.

Towns Fund Grant Secures the Future of Stapleford’s Oldest Shop
One of the oldest shops in Stapleford, Rowells, is looking ahead to a bright future thanks to a £32,800 Towns Fund grant for much needed repairs and improvements.
The haberdashery, curtain, bedding and clothing store, located at 36 Derby Road, has been on the town high street for over 120 years, run by three generations of the Marshall family from Nottinghamshire.

Broxtowe Renews Hate Crime Pledge
Broxtowe Borough Council has signed a new Hate Crime Pledge to renew their commitment to keep Broxtowe communities safe.
The pledge was signed by Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe, Councillor David Grindell, Leader of the Council, Councillor Milan Radulovic MBE, Chief Executive of Broxtowe Borough Council, Ruth Hyde and Portfolio Holder for Community Safety, Councillor Richard MacRae as part of the Council’s commitment to tackling hate crime.

A Unique Insight into D.H. Lawrence Exhibition Through the Eyes of Its Curator
 Visitors to the D.H Lawrence Birthplace Museum can delve even deeper into the Eastwood born writer’s journey into print with a unique insight from Dr. Andrew Harrison, as part of a Meet The Curator session tomorrow.
Dr Harrison, who curated the ‘Editing D.H. Lawrence’ exhibition which is currently on display in the museum, will be on hand between 11.00am and 2.00pm on Saturday 18 March to give his insight into Lawrence and the challenges of censorship, negotiations with publishers, editorial changes and private publication and design.
Broxtowe Borough Flies the Flag for the Commonwealth
Students from Round Hill, the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, Dame Elizabeth Fradd and honoured guests joined the Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe, Councillor David Grindell earlier this week to fly a flag for the Commonwealth.
Guests came together and battled the wind and rain to show their commitment and dedication to marking the tenth anniversary of the Commonwealth Charter, signed by the late Queen Elizabeth II in 2013, and the Family of Nations it represents.
