Get Your Weekend Started With FRIDAY18
 Last week solo artist Paul Harrison kicked off our summer of FRIDAY18 music events in Beeston.
Live music will be at the band stand from 18:00hrs every Friday until 26th August, so come and enjoy before heading to some of the new restaurants, bars and cinema.
This evening Anteloup, a 5 piece band with an eclectic set will be ready to start your weekend.

Stapleford Green Festival Next Weekend
Don't miss our next Green Festival at Pasture Road Recreation Ground, Stapleford next Saturday 6th August, 12pm – 3pm.

Dig In Community Allotment will also be having their open day as part of the festival. The gates to the Albany allotments are just by the bus stop before you get to the Man of Iron pub.
The allotment will be open 1pm-3pm and members of the group will be able to show you round.
£3 million for Safer Streets in Notts
 Eastwood have been included in plans to make people safe and feel safer on the streets of Nottinghamshire as part of a £3 million boost.
The Safer Streets funding will pay for a range of crime prevention measures, including wardens who will patrol the streets, specialist burglary reduction officers, a greater CCTV camera network, better street lighting and training for people working in town centres at night-time to help them keep women and girls safe.
Nottinghamshire’s Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner submitted a total of four successful funding bids to the Home Office, each for £750,000, after working with partners, for projects across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
Health and Care System in Nottingham: Critical incident
Earlier this week the health and care system in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire declared a critical incident due to continued and unprecedented demand for its services.
Although they have seen some reductions in pressure, the overall demand remains at such a level that the critical incident response will be continued, especially as we head into the weekend.
You can help by:
- Only calling 999 or attending A&E departments for serious accidents and for genuine emergencies
- Visit NHS 111or call NHS 111 for advice on how to get the care you need at any time of day or night
- Urgent treatment centres, like the one on London Road Nottingham can help you get the care you need for dealing with the most common issues that people attend emergency departments for such as burns and sprains
Reminder to complete our Parks and Open Spaces Survey
 Have you taken part in our parks and open spaces survey yet? We want to know your thoughts on how you think your local Broxtowe park or green space can be improved so that we can continue to keep our parks to the best standard.
The survey is open until 31st August 2022 and only takes a few minutes to complete.

Nottinghamshire Pride
Nottinghamshire Pride is back tomorrow, Saturday 30th July.
Gather at Listergate from 10am, with the march starting at 11am, which will then proceed through the city centre, to Hockley where the event will continue with live entertainment, stalls, music and art up to 7pm.
This year's theme is 'We See You' which is a call to everyone to get behind our community and support those whose voices sometimes go unheard.

Generous Donation Follows Home Refurb for Abuse Survivor
Local Domestic Abuse Charity, Broxtowe Women's Project, has welcomed a generous donation of £500 from Broxtowe Borough Council’s principal housing contractor, United Living.
Chris Harrison, United Living Site Manager, Debbie Johnson, Broxtowe Borough Council’s Aids and Adaptations Officer and Howard Draper, Broxtowe Borough Council’s Modernisations Officer presented the cheque to BWP’s CEO Colette Byrne and Helen at a Cream Tea event on 20 July.

Cost of living: Help for Households
Last week the government last week announced that retail deals and discounts to help families over the summer holidays have been launched as part of the Help for Households Campaign.
These deals have been signed with various businesses, including Asda, Morrisons, Amazon and Vodafone and are designed to reduce costs at the checkout, help provide entertainment and ensure access to necessary services for families during the summer holidays and beyond.

Please note that there are parking restrictions in Devonshire Avenue car park and our enforcement team are patrolling on a regular basis.
Monday to Friday from 7am to 4.30pm – Broxtowe permit holders only.
Saturday and Sunday – free public parking all day.
