Our parks and spaces survey is now open


We are asking Broxtowe residents to take our 2022 parks and open spaces survey.

Every year we select a number of parks across Broxtowe which we want to ensure meet the “Green Flag” standard, a nationwide scheme which recognises quality Green Spaces. The parks that are selected are surveyed on a rolling basis and on average scored every 3 years unless they fail the required mark at which point they will be scored again the following year.

We want to hear your thoughts on how we can improve signage, cleanliness, planting, facilities and general maintenance in our parks.

Without your feedback from last year’s consultation, the improvements that have been made to our parks wouldn’t have been possible. These include improvements to the drainage and resurfacing at Smithurst Road Open Space, Giltbrook. Play area and path works have also been completed at Inham Nook in Chilwell and Hall Om Wong Open Space in Kimberley. A brand new play area was also installed at Dovecote Lane recreation ground in Beeston.

The survey only takes a few minutes to complete and is open until 30 August 2022 – we really appreciate your feedback.

Open Day for Apprentice Mechanic


Thursday 14 July 2022 at Kimberley Depot, Eastwood Road, Kimberley, NG16 2HX.

At Broxtowe Borough Council we want to invest in people and help them to reach their full potential by offering opportunities to build their skills and experience. We are holding an open day at the Kimberley depot for those that are interested in applying for our upcoming apprentice mechanic role. People of any age can apply.

We think you should also have the chance to see what you are applying for, to see where you would be working (if successful) and have the chance to ask those people that are performing the jobs right now what they think about the role.

Nottingham West’s Virtual Broxtowe Together event


Do you want to play a vital role in improving the health and wellbeing of Broxtowe?

Broxtowe residents and businesses are invited to join Nottingham West Primary Care Network (PCN) for their third annual virtual Broxtowe Together participation event – this will take place via Zoom on Thursday 14 July between 9:30am and 12:30pm. You will be able to voice your thoughts on:

  • Improving the quality of life for people living in Broxtowe
  • Broxtowe’s Mental Health services
  • How the health, social and wellbeing needs of Broxtowe residents can be met

The event is open to all local people and will be hosted by patient representative Julie Bryant.

Join Broxtowe Women's Project for a cream tea


Broxtowe Women's Project are launching a programme known as 'Work It Out Together' on Wednesday 20 July 2022. To celebrate the launch they are hosting a cream tea at the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum in Eastwood on 20 July from 12:30pm to 2:30pm.

'Work It Out Together' is funded by Western Power Distribution's Community Matters fund and as part of the programme BWP will work with cultural venues and leisure centres across Broxtowe to provide spaces for activities and exercise sessions for women affected by Domestic Abuse. Our Lifeline Service gives you peace of mind


Lifeline is our service for residents who are vulernable including those who are elderly, have disabilities or are at risk of falling.

Lifeline's unit can be worn as a wristband or pendant and costs as little as £3.93 a week. It can help users to feel more independent by providing access to an accredited UK Control Centre which can be contacted at any time of day. Just some of the benefits of subscribing to Lifeline include:
