Bid confirmed for £40m ‘Levelling Up’ Link Road

As part of the government's 'Levelling Up' fund, Nottinghamshire County Council is preparing a bid worth approximately £40m to fund the planned Toton Link Road.

It is expected that the Toton Link Road will encourage jobs, housing and business growth and make a significant contribution to Nottinghamshire's economic growth.

Pre-construction work is already underway on the link road, but it is hoped that the Levelling Up Fund will lead to the government fully financing it.

Plastic Bag Free Day - 3 July

It’s Plastic Bag Free Day on Sunday 3 July – this holiday raises awareness of how plastic bags can have a devastating effect on our planet.

This Sunday, challenge yourself to avoid using any plastic bags all day. If you’re planning on going shopping, take a reusable bag or any kind of carrier that isn’t plastic – it could be a tote bag, rucksack or even a handbag if you’re only shopping for a few small items.
