RIG 'On the Move'

Your voice, your views text - with lots of smiling faces

The RIG (Resident Involvement Group) decided to take their meeting ‘On the Move’ and recently met at Gutersloh Court, Stapleford. Tenants and Leaseholders had the opportunity to find out how they can influence Housing services and the RIG were able to find out how they prefer to be involved.

A total of 30 tenants and leaseholders joined the meeting and found out information about:

  • Neighbourhood Champions
  • Housing Community Fund
  • Housing Facebook Group
  • Attending RIG meetings

They also heard about plans Housing are developing over the coming year and opportunities for influencing decisions around these.

The RIG will be meeting again at 1pm on 12th July 2022 at the Council Offices, Beeston. We’d love more tenants and leaseholders to join us, even if it’s just to observe. If you need assistance with getting to the meeting, let us know and we can arrange transport.

The RIG will be ‘On the Move’ again later this year and will be heading to Eastwood for one of their meetings.

More information about how you can have your say on Housing services is available on our Housing Engagement webpages.

  • Assessing your current housing situation and working out what your needs and requirements are
  • Advising you on steps to take to prevent your homelessness and stay in your home
  • Make referrals to support agencies that we believe could assist you

Tenancy Sustainment

The Tenancy Sustainment Officers are an essential part of the Neighbourhoods team.

Working closely with the Neighbourhood Coordinators, they work with some of the most vulnerable tenants to ensure they sustain their tenancy with us.

All new tenants are assessed to identify if they would benefit from a referral for support. This can include referrals to furniture projects, helping tenants into more suitable accommodation, approaching charities for financial assistance and making onward referrals to other local organisations.

Broxtowe Mediation Partnership

The mediation partnership

The Broxtowe Mediation Partnership is a confidential service run by Broxtowe Youth Homelessness (BYH) and Citizens Advice Broxtowe (CAB) for residents of the Broxtowe Borough.

Mediation is a way to resolve issues when there is a disagreement between parties.

Mediation is held by a neutral person (a 'mediator'). The mediator is impartial; they do not take sides. They’re there to help everyone involved find a solution they can all agree to.
If you’re in need of advice or mediation, please contact Citizen Advice Broxtowe.

Referrals are preferred by e-mail at mediation@ca-broxtowe.org.uk. They can also be contacted by phone on 01773 768363
