Call B4 You Serve

Call before you serve logo

The Governments eviction embargo has now been lifted.

However, Broxtowe Borough Council are signed up to 'Call B4 You Serve' (CB4YS). This is an initiative led by DASH Services, to offer advice and support to Private Rented Sector landlords around the consideration of eviction.

CB4YS is a FREE of charge specialist service for private landlords who are experiencing difficulties with their tenancies.

We would urge any private landlords operating within the Broxtowe Borough to contact CB4YS to discuss what support they can provide, before considering serving an eviction notice.

With over 10 years helping private landlords DASH is ideally suited to understanding the real life difficulties faced by private landlords in the marketplace

The CB4YS services include:

  • Support for landlords in what can be a very stressful time
  • Help to create a personalised housing plan agreed with the tenant
  • Rent arrears assistance through Housing Benefit services, Universal Credit, local government homeless prevention funds and charities
  • A financial assessment of tenants to maximise income to help ensure success moving forward
  • Referrals and signposting to specialist services for more long-term support if needed
  • A mediation service between landlords, tenants and local authorities
  • Help and advice on leasing properties to arrange supported housing providers.

A indoor plant image taken by a tenant at bexhill court

Inspired by the Cloverlands Court Communal Garden article last month, a tenant from Bexhill Court sent in this image of his Indoor plant.

'A neighbour gave it to me over ten years ago when I moved into Bexhill Court. They told me in all the time they've had it it's never flowered. So, I've been dutifully tending to it and finally it has flowered! I have no idea what type of plant it is, but it looks great.'

What's your top tip for keeping indoor plants?

'Make sure you have good compost and read the instructions (if you have them). But if in my case you don't, keep an eye on it and water/feed it when it's looking sad.'

What do you like about Independent Living?

'Personally, I think these flats are great for people looking to downsize for whatever the reason. Plus there's a great community feel. If you enjoy chatting to others in the communal lounge, kitchen or garden it's a great choice!'

Do you have a good news story to share with us?

Email the details to housingengagement@broxtowe.gov.uk and we'll contact you!
