Every Vaccination Gives Us Hope
 More than 90% of people aged over 55 in Nottinghamshire have had their first dose of the vaccine, and over 50% of adults in the UK have had 2 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
The Director of Public Health for Nottinghamshire, Jonathan Gribbin in the video above, is urging residents to take up the offer of the vaccine as soon as you are invited to book an appointment. The vaccine is proving to save thousands of lives.
If you're eligible to book your vaccine, you can do so through the National NHS Booking System or you can call 119.
We've also had the NHS Vaccination Bus visit the Borough, so please keep an eye out for any new dates we announce if you are struggling to get to a centre.
If you are unsure about whether or not to have the vaccine and have further questions, please speak to your local GP, nurse or speak to the staff at the vaccination centres, where they are more than happy to talk through any worries or concerns.
If You Have Symptoms
 If you have any COVID-19 symptoms such as:
- A new continuous cough
- High temperature
- Loss or change to smell or taste
You should self-isolate and get a test as soon as possible. This helps stop COVID-19 from spreading further in our community.
There are lots of ways to get tested, including our walk in testing site at Albion Street Car Park, Beeston.
Let's Keep Each Other Safe
 Thank you to all of our residents who are continuing to follow Government guidelines and are taking up the offer of getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
Every action still makes a big difference in keeping numbers down and keeping yourselves, friends, family and community safe in Broxtowe.
So please continue to:
- Wear a face covering, unless exempt
- If you have symptoms, self-isolate and get tested as soon as possible
- Remember to keep space between you and those not in your household
- If you're meeting up indoors, remember to let fresh air in
- Make use of free twice weekly testing if you don't have symptoms, so we can spot cases much quicker
- Keep washing or sanitising your hands
- When visiting venues make sure to check in using the NHS COVID-19 App or write down your details
International Travel
 The traffic light system for international travel means new rules on testing and quarantine for passengers.
You will find all the information you need from the Government on what you will need to do when travelling to and from countries that are on the red, amber or green list.
Make sure you check the latest guidance for travelling safely.

We love Beeston film challenge
 This time last week the new Arc Cinema Beeston officially opened to the public.
In the run up to the opening, we asked local schools to create a 90-second short film about why they loved Beeston.
We received entries from Round Hill Beeston, John Clifford's and Alderman White.
They all did a fantastic job and they got to see their short films on the big screen last Saturday, followed by watching Peter Rabbit 2.
All videos are on our YouTube channel, so you can see the creative work for yourselves!
Less than 30 days to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme
There is less than 30 days to go until the deadline of 30 June 2021 for applications to be made to the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS).
All EU, EEA and Swiss citizens and their family members who were residents in the UK by 31 December 2020 should apply without delay so that they can continue to work, study and access free healthcare and benefits in the UK after 30 June 2021.

Awsworth Neighbourhood Plan Referendum - Thursday 10th June 2021
Our second Neighbourhood Plan referendum will take place on Thursday 10 June 2021.
Voters in Awsworth Parish will go to the polls to respond to the question: “Do you want Broxtowe Borough Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Awsworth to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”

Self-isolating
If you develop symptoms of COVID-19, stay at home and self-isolate immediately. If you have a positive test result but do not have symptoms, stay at home and self-isolate as soon as you receive the results. Your household needs to isolate too.

Financial support

Mental health
The impact of the pandemic on you and your loved ones and not being able to enjoy all of the activities you would normally be involved in can all have an impact on your health. It is important to remember to look after yourself. If you have symptoms or a health concern you are worried about, please contact your GP practice. GP practices are still open and here for you. When you call your practice, you may be offered a consultation online or over the phone. If they feel they need to see you in person, they will invite you in for a face to face appointment.
